Page history last edited by ann rutherford 1 yr ago

Power point is software that allows you to design a slide presentation to give information to a group of people in a creative and exciting way.  One presentation is made up of a number of slides.  Each slide may include picture, sound, text, and movement.

Start New Presentation:

FILE (pull-down menu)

NEW

BLANK PRESENTATION (general tab)

Insert New Slide:

INSERT (pull-down menu)

NEW SLIDE

Chose type of slide layout you want....I usually take a blank as it is less confining.

Add A Design to a Slide:

FORMAT (pull-down menu)

APPLY DESIGN

Choose design you want and apply to one slide OR ALL slides.

Add Color to Background of the Slide:

FORMAT (pull-down menu)

APPLY BACKGROUND

Choose the little down arrow to see al the different colors and textures (you can add a picture as a background as well)

Add Picture:

INSERT (pull-down menu)

PICTURE

CLIP ART or you can import a picture YOU have saved to a file or on your desktop

Add Headline:

WORD ART TOOL (draw toolbar) (you only get the color shown, ie., you cannot change the color of the word art chosen)

Add Motion and Sound to Objects:

Slide show (pull-down menu)

CUSTOM ANIMATION (DO THIS LAST, AS CHANGING YOUR MIND CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS)
